KELVIN DURU

In a chat with Ika Weekly Newspaper reporter, Mr. Kelvin Duru, the Director of God is Good Electrical Electronics Agbor, while assessing the positive development of electricity supply within the metropolis, said, for the past few weeks we have been enjoying stable power supply and the current is very okay, 220 volts are stable and steady, I urge BEDC to continue in this direction, knowing that they are not predictable, they may want to distort the flow but I sincerely encourage them to maintain the tempo which we are presently experiencing and for the BEDC customers I encourage them to pay their bills, since we are enjoying the stable supply. Personally, I pay my electric bill regularly, though most people do complain that the bills are high, but I believe that in as much as you have meters in your compound the bills are usually okay, except for those who do not have registered meters I will like to use this opportunity however to plead with BEDC management to provide us with prepaid meters, to make thing better for all.

Mrs. Rosemary Okolie, a business woman, said, power supply in the last two weeks have improved considerably compared to the past because in my area where I stay we are enjoying the light, but the major challenge is that the bill they are bringing to us, is too high, actually I don’t know how to explain it, we have meter but they are not using the meter to bill us, they just bring whatever they like; but in the case of power supply, they are giving us light very well. Please, they should try and make the bills considerate to enable us pay regularly, because they are doing us very well.

I commend BEDC with this beautiful development.

MR. AKAEZE EMMANUEL

On his part, Mr. Akaeze Emmanuel, a civil servant said, “I think we should give Kudos to the present government that is the Federal government because going by what the MinIster of Power, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, is doing, which he has been following, the distribution companies by putting them on their toes to be up and doing. We really appreciate it, we are really enjoying the light for the past two weeks, and it has made us very comfortable, at least you can preserve your foodstuffs you can have your favourite TV programmes the way you want and also dry-clean your clothes.
However, on the billing system they still need to do more because the discos are being diplomatic and not wanting to supply prepaid meters, I think that is what the federal government should do to press on them, to distribute to their customers.

I urge them to continue giving us light because we will always pay when there is light.
